KKNK time.

The KKNK (Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees) is on in Oudtshoorn again from this weekend and next. For all Afrikaans speaking folk it’s the national festival of the year with lots of culture, live shows on stage and bands playing in packed venues. Book your shows on computicket.com. Remember to hit Barrydale on the way there by taking the alternative route via Route62.

KFM symphony of fire

KFM (a local radio station) is hosting the symphony of fire in Cape Town. It’s an international competition of fireworks which is surely set to light up the skies above Cape Town in the coming days. It’s on until Sunday (I think), so book your tickets at Computicket.com now!! It has been a standing show on an annual basis, so you can expect something spectacular really spectacular, on the rythm of some great classical music. There are picnic and other closer seats and pricing ranges from R110 to R160.

The beautiful Blouberg Strand

Blouberg Strand (also known as Blaauwberg) is situated about 20 minutes drive up the West Coast from Cape Town on the R27. Long white beaches with perfect kite- and windsurfing conditions awaits the adventurous. From Blouberg you have a birds eye view of Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was kept prisoner during the apartheid years, a reminder of our colourful past and also of the good that has come from having our freedom. Below is a pic I took with my new digital camera.

New Virgin Active in Cape Town

Virgin Active launched a new branch of gym recently in Gardens, within the Cape Town city bowl. This is bound to be a great convenience for city folk wanting to stay fit, as well as tourist looking to stay in shape, given the fact of Cape Town’s exquisite cuisine. Give them a call on (021) 462 6239 for more information.

The big South African blog off

I’ve entered the big South African Blog Off. And shall I see this blog get the attention it really deserves? Will the hours and hours of blog sweating pay off? Only time will tell. BTW, there’s a street party in Long Street, which is probably now in full swing. If you’re up late and reading this, get out there NOW! Dunno what I’m doing here at 00:23…

PS - Got a new digital camera. Expect some pictures of Cape Town soon!
