Cape Summer ‘Slow’
The Cape Summer Show that was destined to run until the 24th of December has been cancelled early due to low turnout by visitors. It was attributed to extreme weather (high winds) and death threats received by the organisers. The show exhibitors were highly upset at the low turnout and are seeking legal advice for further action. It was highly publicised that up to 500k visitors would be attending the show. Unfortunately there seemed to have been a marketing blunder…
The wind’s not letting up at the moment and we’re probably seeing more wind than previous years in December. The tourists are all out though and most hotspots are buzzing with anticipation of the pending holiday season.
Cape Town Hotspots of the moment:
Blue Peter Hotel (Blouberg Strand) - great sundowner spot about 20 minutes drive along the West Coast.
La Med (Camps Bay) - Close to town sundowner spot, next to Clifton 4th beach.
Clifton 4th Beach - When the wind’s blowing this is the spot to go, nice and sheltered
